Peep Show

It was a mad dash to the finish line, but we have completed our renovations for 1167 Jackson just in time for our renters to move-in! I'll do one final BEFORE and AFTER post and then on to a new blog!

House is rented! BUT now we have to finish the master suite...AHHH!

After a week or two of being listed for rent we found some great renters! Big relief for James and I, but now this means we have a lot of work to do on 1167 Jackson to make it liveable for our new renters. The main project is finishing up the bathroom we are currenlty adding to the upstairs level. We are converting a big walk-in closet to be the master bath and  have added a new walk-in closet to complete the master suite. I'll keep posting photos as our project completes. Sorry for the low quality images - used the camera on my phone.
Electrical work is completed and we just agreed on the paint color - whew!
Almost finished - HA!
oh yeah, livin' the dream right now...
All new plumbing!
Oh course, all this new plumbing creates a mess in our kitchen

RENT ME!

James and I are moving! That's right, we are movin' on up. We recently found a gorgeous home pretty close to where we live now, which means I can still run to the Katy Trail and we are close to everything we love on histroic Main Street. We actually ended up getting a historic home - it was built in 1906! The current owners have really remolded it nicely and James and I are excited to add our finishing touches.  I'll post more details later, but what I really want to say today is that our beloved home is now FOR RENT! If you've been following me along through my blog, you know that James and I have completely renovated our 1930's home. We are looking forward to letting someone else enjoy this beauty. This weekend we have gotten tons of calls and have had many people stop by to view. BUT if you know of a friend who is looking for a place to stay in St. Charles then please forward them the below link. We would love a good renter! Plus, James and I would be pretty awesome landlords ;)

Up, Up and Away!

The husband and I recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a trip to Destin, Florida with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. We stayed at the Destin West Resort and we were incredibly lucky to have not encountered any oil during our whole stay! The water was a bit algae-ish, but my sis kept reminding all of us of the wonderful skin conditioning qualities. The trip started out a bit rocky with a panic attack by my sister during take off.  She is going to kill me for posting these photos, but....
OK, so everyone is having a blast, right?
I mean, look this is a lot of fun!!!
Oh man, this "bus" is really moving...
Oh sweet Jesus! (this is where I had to drop the camera)

On that note, things did calm down and we all settled into penthouse #5, which came complete with its very own hot tub on the 2nd story!

We celebrated vacation life with cheap champagne - although it was made with organic grapes so it felt extra fancy.
Aiden had his first experience with the Gulf of Mexico
Hittin' the bottle early in the morning.
This resort came complete with a gangsta lazy river!
For our one year dinner we ate an amazing restaurant, http://www.thelouisianalagniappe.com/.
Of course the standard photos were taken and the not so standard....
Yep, that's the creep I married.
Bye Florida! Be back soon!

Still Running

I've still been running almost everyday now and last Saturday I finally got to the doubles - 10 miles! Not in a million years would I ever think that I would be running up to 10 miles at a time. I have a half marathon I signed up for in October, but I'm thinking that if I can already do 10 I might as well train for a full marathon. I know I'm going to have some issues with the summer heat, but my plan is to keep running early in the morning and late evening. So since I'm obviously obsessed, I've been reading every running blog and watching ultra marathoners on YouTube. I've also been thinking about purchasing a running skirt, which my sister thinks is ridiculous. Thoughts? Would running in a skirt be ridiculous?

Outside Upgrades

We've always had shutters on the front of our home and have been wanting to add shutters to the sides, but for some reason everytime we went to Lowes (which is seriously getting out of hand - we go like 3 times a week atleast!) they just never ended up in our cart. Well, this week was different. We got 3 sets and James had them hung up in no time. We can't believe the difference it made...see for yourselves.
